Michael Cerrone (1989) is an architect and professional photographer of architecture and interiors. For several years he has been hired by architecture firms and designers to photograph their projects. The subjects range from small coffee bars to large buildings designed by (e.g.) Rem Koolhaas, Peter Zumthor or Louis Kahn. All photoshoots, commissioned by architects and designers such as Concrete Architecten or & Prast & Hooft, are carried out with great enthusiasm and precision. No detail is left unnoticed and there is always a clear communication with the client about the project and requirements prior to the shoot.
As an architect and interior designer himself (his own office being HOP Architects), Michael has a trained eye in spatiality and knows exactly the amount of time and effort it takes to design a building or an interior project. He knows about the importance of certain details and materialisation and how to scan the project’s floor plans and drawings to plan the best spots and timing for the photoshoot.
Educated by famous Dutch photographer Vincent Mentzel himself, Michael has developed a great interest in photography dating back to his early childhood. His photos have received recognition from small exhibitions to publications in physical / online architecture magazines such as Architectuur NL and the world’s largest design platform DEZEEN.
